What is Circle singing?

Circle-singing, like free improvisation, arises from nothing, without planning anything.
The music is formed from single repetitive sung phrases,
and piece by piece a new musical idea is added or taken away.
All the singers stand in a circle and the course leader acts as composer and conductor in the middle.
Everyone who wants to, gets the opportunity to lead the Circle themselves, to playfully try out composing and arranging.
Also, anyone who wants to may improvise solo in the Circle.
Circle-singing teaches us to listen to each other, so that at the right moment,
we can either let go of one's own idea or to take over the musical leadership with conviction.
In doing so, we train our spontaneity, flexibility, self-confidence and trust in our musical ideas.
